Process
We begin with a free sonic cleaning of the film before the transfer, removing mold and particles. Using our state of the art equipment, we capture each individual frame of the film as a pure digital image, making frame-by-frame adjustments to improve exposure, focus, and image quality. The process of digitally capturing and adjusting each frame completely eliminates flicker. Next, the individual images are reassembled to match the original running speed of the film. We then save the digitized footage and export it to the format of your choosing. Our process is digital from start to finish. It takes longer but it delivers a superior product.

Film Quality
The quality of a film is affected by its age and condition, lighting, and the camera used. In many cases, our cleaning and transfer processes produce a digital version better than the original. However, not all imperfections can be eliminated. We cannot focus a frame that was out of focus when originally shot. If the emulsion of the film has been damaged, it cannot be repaired. Still, it may be possible to capture a reasonable image worth preserving. Let us look at it. Some problems are fixable, others aren’t. If we are concerned that processing may further damage the film, we will talk to you first. If we believe the film is beyond our ability to repair, we will simply return it at no charge to you.
